Colby Starrett is a seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience as an electrical contractor in the construction field. Colby started working with Settle Muter Electric in Columbus, Ohio in 1995. After 10 years as a journeyman electrician, superintendent, and project manager for SME Ohio, Colby was promoted to President of SME in North Carolina. As President of SME NC, Colby had spent the last six years dedicated to the success and growth of Settle Muter Electric. Upon his return to Columbus, Colby has taken the reins on the Renewable Energy Division.
Colby has worked on many high profile electrical contracting jobs. Colby has supervised projects that range from $1K to more than $9 million dollars. Previous projects completed under Colby’s leadership include: the Research Triangle Foundation Headquarter Building, Raleigh, NC; the Marion Juvenile Correction Center, in Marion Ohio; Wake County Public Schools, Raleigh NC; and new large scale dorm buildings at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Colby is known for working closely with clients to ensure projects are advancing on schedule and projects are completed to client satisfaction. Colby’s field knowledge combined with his management skills give him an insight into the electrical business that customers have come to rely on.
